KIDS DON’T READ! That is the narrative many school officials and politicians are telling the world. However, it's not true. Kids do read. They read what they want to read. They read interesting, inspiring, and motivational things, and that is the mission behind Code 123 Playground.
In the early 90s, kids would flock to the nearest newsstands or any store that carried fanzines of their favorite musical artist. Biggie Smalls coined a phrase in his song Juicy. "I used to read Word Up! magazine”, says Biggie. That means he knew how to read and had something to look forward to. He tore the pictures out of the magazine and put them on his bedroom wall so he could be inspired and motivated. That's something our children need more of; motivation and inspiration. The fanzines of the 90s are no longer available. This is where the print version of Code 123 Playground can step in so that children can carry it with them wherever they go. Most children don't have access to digital devices 24/7. A print copy of a magazine is something children can have at their fingertips to read over and over to dream big dreams and be inspired and motivated. CODE 123 PLAYGROUND was created for school-age children to explore their world through reading.
